Sir:

At 8:00 am on Thursday, March 17th. I had to ask my wife to take me to the Emergency room at IRMH.

On arrival, in spite of the facility being extremely busy, I was immediately admitted and taken care of. A duodenal ulcer had perforated depositing seven pints of blood where it was not supposed to be.

Without the professional skill of all of the staff involved, from the doctors through the technical staff, the cheerful hard-working nurses and nurses' aides, and everyone in between, I would not be writing this letter.

No doubt like many others, every time I see an appeal for blood, I think "ah, yes, that's a good idea" - but then do nothing about it.

May I urge everyone reading this letter to consider giving blood to the Indian River Blood Bank, Inc. - telephone: (772) 567-4266. Remember - the life you save, may be your own.

Thank you, thank you, IRMH.

Sincerely,

Brian H.Redman
